BIKETOWN

EASTBANK ESPLANADE

The popular Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade is a bike & pedestrian path that follows the east shore of the Willamette River, offering some of the city's best views.

Eastbank-Esplanade
Grab a BIKETOWN bike at NE Wheeler at Multnomah and head south to enjoy the longest "floating walkway" in the country.

  • Follow the green bikeway down Wheeler as it merges with Interstate Ave
  • Once you cross NE Oregon Street, enter the sidewalk path and zig-zag your way down to the Eastbank Esplanade
  • Take in the scenic views as you ride right along – and on top of – the river on the floating walkway

Drop your bike at the SE Clay at Water station for a 1.5-mile ride.

For a longer ride, continue south to check out Tilikum Crossing, the only bridge in the country dedicated to light rail, buses, bikes and pedestrians, with no automobile traffic. You can drop your bike at the SE 2nd at Caruthers station and cross the bridge by foot. Or ride over Tilikum Crossing and end your ride on the west shore of the Willamette at the SW Moody at Tilikum Crossing station.
